Zelda made her way through Din's temple, silently taking in its beauty. She hung her head leaning against one of the many columns looking at the large statue of the Goddess Din. "I don't know if you can hear me. Or if you're even there." she sang, her beautiful voice rang out and she looked to the goddess with silent supplication in her eyes approaching the alter at the foot of the large statue, taking in the smell of incense and the offering of desert flowers that were laid on the alter. The goddess was depicted as a kind and beautiful woman holding a baby Gerudo lovingly with a young Goron clinging to her skirts like a frightened child  "I don't know if you would listen to a Hylian's prayer." she stared sadly at the two races who the goddess governed, knowing also that she was the patron of the broken hearted villains and outcasts of Hyrule. "Yes I know I'm just an outcast, I shouldn't speak to you." she looked up at the face of the statue seeing the loving gaze in the goddess's eyes. "Still I see your face and wonder, were you once an outcast too?"

Vaati sat on a high ceiling pillar leaning back staring longingly at the ceiling. Even before he betrayed his people and stole his master's magic cap, he had been an outcast among his people. He sought love, he sought acceptance, he sought to matter in life. He paused and looked up hearing the beautiful voice of a woman in prayer. He jumped down from the beam and set out to seek the owner of the majestic voice.

"Goddess help the outcast, hungry from birth, show them the mercy they don't find on earth." she sang sadly walking through the temple, past the banks of high candles which made her features glow in the most lovely way, her fingers brushing each of the many columns she passed. "Goddess help my people. We look to you still. Goddess help the outcasts or no one else will."

Vaati rushed hearing the voice getting louder meaning his search was coming to an end. He grasped the railings of the ledge that overlooked the floor below where to his surprise the Hylian princess slowly walked, her voice ringing out. Her prayer….it was his. He silently added chorus to her song. It was for him. All for him. He paused biting his lip seeing shadows slowly approaching the princess. Her song unheard by the wandering villains who each carried a single candle. Not even giving the princess a second glance as she walked behind the pillars staring at them as they walked down the path.

"I ask for wealth." Cole sang.

"I ask for fame." Ghirahim added his voice to the song holding his candle close.

"I ask for glory to shine on my name." Ganondorf added his deep voice ringing out along with them.

Zelda turned to see Veran staring at a massive stain glass window which depicted Din with her arms held wide as if to embrace her subjects. A pained look reached Veran's face as she clung to herself. "I ask for love. I can possess." she clutched her chest and lifted her arms to the goddess in surrender.

"I ask the goddess and her angels to bless…me." all the villains joined her voice holding up their arms to the goddess.

"I ask for nothing. I can get by." Zelda leaned against a wall, once again hidden from the villains the pain returning to her voice and face as she sang, her body slumping against the wall. "But I know so many less lucky than I." she gently kicked off the wall and continued to walk slowly. "Please help my people, the poor and downtrod. I thought we all were the children of the goddess."

Vaati looked past his hiding spot now on the same floor. She was mesmerizing. She had stopped and stared up at another stained glass window whose colors reflected with the light of the sun cloaking her in a circle of beautiful colors. Her eyes lifted up to the heavens as she sang. He felt his throat tighten at the thought that she would ever leave..ever stop singing. Ever not be his.

"Goddess help the outcasts. The children of the goddess." her voice held the last note before slowly fading away and she knelt her legs failing her. The long dress she wore flowing out from under her like a flower her head hanging.

Vaati clung to the column which he hid behind. He leaned against it, his face pressed against the cold stone. His last prayer to the goddess answered as he was made whole. By her mere words acknowledging his existence. By her words she had once again given him life.
I have GOT to just avoid the Hunchback of Notredame the songs keep getting stuck in my head. I had Ganondorf singing Hellfire (check that out if you get the chance) on that someone commented saying that like me they often pictured their favorite characters singing songs they listened to. I do the same thing and this song was so beautiful I had to write something for it [link] (Link to listen to it)

The main story to this is that Zelda has gone to the Temple of Din to pray for her people and all the villains who are in pain. Vaati hears her singing and seeks to find her feeling a deep connection with her pain. This is a dangerous move for Zelda to enter the Temple seeing how many other villains are there praying to Din as well. Zelda's song is accompanied by Cole, Ghirahim, Ganondorf, and Veran.

I thought Zelda singing with my favorite villains (save for Cole, he was annoying) was amusing the moral being vaatixzelda is cute and I was in a somber mood. Although despite this stirring piece I did change the words thus it lost some of its rhyme and flow so my apologies. Enjoy. AND COMMENT!!!
